How Nautilux Began
The Nautilux story began in pursuit of the Southern Rock Lobster, an iconic species found deep inside caves and beneath ledges along the South Australian coastline.
After years of using dive torches from several major brands, it became clear that many did not perform where it mattered most. Some struggled to properly illuminate caves and ledges, lacked the runtime required for long days in the water or failed after the knocks and impacts that come with serious diving.
With the help of a small group of dive buddies, the decision was made to have a crack at building something better.
Over the following years, Nautilux was shaped through countless dives, honest feedback and real conversations between divers who demanded equipment they could trust.
Tested in Real Conditions
Since 2019, hundreds of Nautilux torches have undergone thousands of hours of real-world use and testing across multiple design generations.
Our designs have been pushed through caves, ledges, surge, murky water, night dives and long commercial dive days. Feedback from these demanding conditions has helped us continually refine their performance, durability and reliability.
The torches you see today are the result of that process: purpose-built dive torches developed in South Australia and proven dive after dive in some of Australia’s toughest diving conditions.

Nautilux torches are built for clarity, strength and endurance. Every component is carefully selected with performance in mind, from the internal electronics and magnetic controls to the tempered-glass lenses and rugged aluminium housings.
Focused beams help cut through the water column and minimise backscatter. Dependable runtimes support long dive sessions, while durable construction helps each torch withstand the knocks, saltwater and repeated use that come with real diving.
